MDVISIT CLINIC follows a policy of providing Bundled and Episode-Pricing whenever possible. Bundled pricing provides a single, comprehensive price that covers all the services involved in a patient's episode of care. Analogous to a wedding caterer or a car repair, you receive a single price for the entire job.
Bundled payments align incentives for providers – hospitals, post-acute care providers, physicians, and other practitioners – and encourage them to work together to improve the quality and coordination of care. Generally, bundles cover a set of services for certain conditions or procedures, including hospitalization and a certain time period post-discharge.
Procedures like Orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery are good diagnoses that often work well with bundled pricing.
Other diagnoses make it more difficult to know all possible charges in advance. Some types of cancer treatments are an example. You and the specialty physician may not know how your body responds to treatment. These unknowns affect variables such as the length of time spent in surgery or recovery, specific equipment used, supplies and medications required, additional tests ordered by the physician, or any unusual special care or unexpected conditions or complications that may occur during the course of service. Based on your specialty physician's instructions, MDVISIT CLINIC will provide you with the best price estimate for your care given the known variables.
After you confirm that the care details and the bundled price are acceptable, your case coordinator will schedule a call with our service agreement manager, Teresa Farah. She is an international contracts attorney who will review the services agreement with you. We welcome the inclusion of your financial advisor or attorney if you desire.
Please be aware that the services offered on this platform are with U.S. physicians via a virtual 2nd opinion service. Diagnosis may differ when the physician has had the opportunity to provide an in-person examination. The absence of the in-person examinations can affect the accuracy of the diagnosis and resulting opinion. Please also be aware that a virtual 2nd opinion will not establish a provider-patient relationship. The provide patient relationship can only be established when the patient signs a consent to treatment form in the physician’s physical clinic location in the United States.
